Additional information for this week:
St. Teresa’s Kitchen Project is getting off the ground. Soon to be Ordained Deacon, Nick Dachille, had a vision to carry on St. Teresa of Calcutta’s mission of feeding and helping people in this area. We will be starting out with the purpose of letting all members of our parish know that during the Covid-19 epidemic they have not been forgotten. The St. Teresa’s Kitchen volunteers will be preparing a meal for anyone who would want one. If they can’t pick it up at church, we will have it delivered to them on Saturday, August 8.
But…we need YOUR help to make all of this happen. Help in many ways. What we are looking for at this time is to know who would like a dinner either to pick up or have delivered on Saturday, August 8 after the 4 o’clock Mass. There is no charge for this. It is our way to serve our community and let everyone know they are not forgotten. This will also help us in a trial run for when we get the St. Teresa’s Kitchen Project into full gear and feeding those in need.
Nick’s vision is to start out at this level and to see how far the St. Teresa’s Kitchen can go. We are all called to feed our sheep not just with food, but with love, support and spiritual guidance.
We are also looking for volunteers (people to pack the dinners and drivers to deliver the food). We will be having a fund-raising program to support this project and will need any monetary support you are willing and able to give. Please contact Sandy Moore (Deacon Joe’s wife) at 502 819-8406 or by email at: [email protected] to let us know how many dinners you would like for you and your family delivered or picked up AND to volunteer or to make any donations. Checks can be made out to STOC (St. Teresa of Calcutta) with “St. Teresa’s Kitchen” in the memo section of your check or cash in an envelope marked St. Teresa’s Kitchen and put in the collection basket at church or mailed to St. Teresa’s Kitchen c/o Sandy Moore; 701 Inspiration Way, Louisville, KY 40245.

If you wish to purchase some from the office, you can come between 9am-2pm, M-F. Please consider checking some out and selling them at family gatherings or at work. Again, the drawing will be August 29, 2021 after the 10:00 mass.
September 4/5: This will be a busy weekend. We will have treats after mass in the back of Church to celebrate the birthdays and anniversaries coming in the month of September. Also, we will be celebrate the canonization of St. Teresa of Calcutta on that weekend. After mass on Sunday, there will be a 30 minute in adoration to celebrate our feast day. Please stay after mass for a treat and to celebrate with your Church Family.
Picnic Challenge Update: First, thank you to all who have donated to the challenge. We set our goal this year at $15,000. As of 8/16/2021, with your generosity, we are at $ 10,158. Way to go! If you haven’t made your pledge yet, you still have time, since the Challenge runs until Sept. 30, 2021. As many of you know, we had to cancel the dance – another hit to our budget. We hope to still have some smaller events and have budgeted for them. We are hopeful Covid will calm down, and we will have a chance to come together in the future. Your support is appreciated, especially in these crazy times.
RCIA: If you know of anyone interested in becoming Catholic, please have him/her contact the
Office (502-363-9929), or you can email us.

Fr. Benni is so pleased to report that people helped to spray after the 4:00 10:00 mass. He is grateful for Tom Cissell and “his girls” for help in spraying after the 4:00 mass. Gratefully, he reports that 2 people have volunteered to help count money and 2 have volunteered to help answer the phones in the office. Know there is still a need for help in these areas if you can. Father would also like to thank the Eucharistic Ministers for stepping forward during this time of recovery. We have about 4 teams for Sat. and Sun. masses.
Grandparent’s Day
Sept. 12, 2021
Grandparent’s Day will be celebrated at mass on Sept. 12, 2021. Parents, Grandparents, and children come and celebrate. Grandchildren and great-grandchildren bring you grandparents and great-grandparents. We will say special prayers of appreciation for these gifts to our families. We have sign-up sheets in the back so we can prepare for those who will be coming.
- Please bring family photos of your grandparents or great-grandparents or a family photo. Please attach a paper telling us who they are and who you are so we know what picture goes with what family. We can’t wait to see them!
- You may bring a card for your grandparents or great-grandparent to present to them after mass.
- Flowers will be available for you to pick one up after mass for each “grand” or “great-grand”. Then process to the altar for a blessing. You can present it to them afterwards.
- You can bring food (such as rolls/bread, bunches of carrots, sack of potatoes, fruit) to place on the altar so that they can be blessed. Then, take the food items home to share with the whole family.
- There will be light snacks after each mass to continue the celebration.
Thought for the week; Many people want to serve
Jesus…but only in an advisory capacity.

- We need money counters. In the past, there were teams of 3 who stayed after mass on Sunday; however, there can be a team who would like to come to the Office to count on Mondays. It is flexible – according to your schedule.
- We need help spraying the Church after Mass with disinfectant spray. Tom Cissell and his daughters, help on Saturday, but Carol Payne is alone on Sundays. If someone can help on Sundays, it would be greatly appreciated.
- If anyone could help answer and/or make phone calls a couple of hours a week, it would free the office workers to do the other jobs that need to be done.
